Freegal FAQs...
How many songs can I download?
There is a limit of three songs per week that can be downloaded with your Avondale Public Library account. Every Sunday at 12:00 a.m. EST (10:00 p.m. MST), downloads will be set back to zero for that week.
Why is there a limit on the number of downloads?
The limit is set so that a maximum number of patrons may have equal access to the songs in the Sony catalog.
How do I download a song using Freegal?
Once you have selected the song you want from Freegal's menu, click the "Download Now" link next to your chosen song. At the prompt, select Save and choose where you want to save the song. If you're not presented with a prompt, try right-clicking the link and choosing the option to save the link (i.e. Save Target As, Save Link As, or Download Linked File, etc.). This will let you choose where to save your song.

**Please Note: Anytime you click on the "Download Now" link, even if you decide to cancel it, the download will count towards your weekly allotment.
How can I tell how many downloads I have used?
After logging onto Freegal with your Avondale Public Library Card, your weekly download allotment will be displayed in the upper right corner, allowing you to keep track of your downloads.  For example, if the display says 1/3, then you have 3 downloads for the week and have used up 1.
Why does Freegal say I've downloaded 3 songs when I'm sure I haven't?
You may have started a download then changed your mind and canceled it. However, once you click download it can’t be reversed. It will count toward your download limit.
How do I search for a song or artist in Freegal?
You can search by artist, by song, by the album or by keyword. Use the grid at the bottom right to browse by artist in alphabetical order. Use the bar across the top to browse by genre or by our suggestions. Expanded search options are under advanced search.
Can I download a whole album using Freegal?
Songs are available on an individual basis only. If you choose, you can, over time, download all the songs on an album.
What is a Song Clip?
The song clip is to the left of the song title and allows you to preview a song by clicking on the arrow to the left of the track. Previewing a song will help you decide whether or not to use one of your downloads on a song.
